October 21, 2008

On Tuesday, October 21, 2008, Project Women is holding its Eleventh Annual Luncheon in the Grand Ballroom at the Galt House Hotel from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Our speaker this year is world-renowned author and frequent O magazine contributor, Faith Adiele. Ms. Adiele was born in the 1960’s in Washington State to a Scandinavian mother and a Nigerian father. Her worldly travels included her becoming a Buddhist nun in Thailand where she survived on one meal per day, meditated 19 hours a day, and lived in a forest with rats and cobras. These experiences culminated in her book Meeting Faith: The Forest Journals of a Black Buddhist Nun. She is also the co-author of the novel The Student Body and is the subject of the PBS documentary My Journey Home. We invite you to a truly awe-inspiring experience with this unique speaker. This year chances on themed baskets will replace the silent auction. The baskets will contain items such as restaurant gift certificates, family outing passes, weekend getaway opportunities, gardening needs, and sports memorabilia as well as tickets to sporting events.
