The Need: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through Education
In Louisville, hundreds of single-parent women are trying to survive. Alone, they cannot escape the well of poverty in which they and their children are trapped.
Project Women, Inc. seeks to respond to the needs of our time, particularly those needs resulting from the feminization of poverty. As an agent of systematic change, Project Women, Inc. sponsors temporary transitional services for women and their children.
Recognizing that the woman’s desire for growth is essential to her participation in community activities while living in a communal setting, and believing that education affirms and enhances the dignity of each resident, Project Women, Inc. supports residents in developing a commitment to education.
