Who Qualifies?
A woman entering Project Women’s program must meet the following qualifications:
- She is single
- She is homeless
- Meaning she has no stable home
- Is in danger of losing her home
- Is living with a relative or friend and could be told at any time to leave (Kentucky definition of homelessness)
- She has a child, children, or is pregnant
- She has her high school diploma or GED
- She has the desire to pursue a baccalaureate degree
Typically, women are referred to our program by temporary shelters or crisis centers such as the Center for Women and Families, as well as by colleges, churches, and other community and social service organizations.
Program Outcomes
| 80 | - | The number of single mothers that have received housing at Project Women. |
| 130 | - | The number of children accompanying these 80 single mothers served by Project Women. This brings the total number of individuals receiving housing support through Project Women to 210. |
| 23 | - | The number of college degrees earned by Project Women participants. This includes participants that earned a Ph.D. in Social Work and a J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law. |
| 53 | - | The percentage of Project Women participants that have continued their post-secondary education after exiting the program. |
| 75 | - | The percentage of the single mothers enrolled in Project Women that have exited the program to stable employment. |
| 100 | - | The percentage of Project Women participants that have exited the program to stable housing. |
